Taylor
Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomena: a superstar who managed to fully transition from the traditional to becoming an enduring celebrity and then conquering the world in the process. Swift removed herself from country music like a second-skin, and revealed that she had the best pop sensibility in her time. Swift was the only musician/singer to take the popular zeitgeist out on the road. Swift's early hits, especially the neo tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her skills. The album from 2008 Fearless showed a singer-songwriter who was beginning to discover herself, and finding a large audience. The album ended up with a lot of legs not only on the U.S. where it racked seven platinum singles thanks to Top Ten hits Love Story and the hit single You Belong with Me but throughout the world performing particularly well within Australia, U.K. Canada and Australia. Speak Now delivered almost two years later and consolidated this success and moved Swift towards the top of superstardom. The three albums following (Reputation 2017, 1989 2014, and Red 2012) Red 2012, 1989 2014 along with Reputation 2017. Swift's fame only grew. This was a sure indicator that Swift had entered a new pop world that she could be part of. Although she slowed down her production with folklore, and Evermore albums in the year 2020, she was at the forefront of pop music.
