Lucy Liu is a voice actress singer and director. Also, she is an actress. An attractive, clever and talented actress, she is an inspiration to Asian actors who want to make it big in Hollywood. After several appearances in popular TV series and movies, she gained fame when she was cast on the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she played Ling Woo. Following her success, she landed major parts on the shows Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). Then she gave a stunning performance as Japanese crime lord O-Ren Ishii in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. Around the same time she was also in the lead role in a few films that failed at the box office, such as Rise: Blood Hunter. She then started voicing prominent characters in animated films, such including Kung Fu Panda and Tinker Bell. Mia Mason's role as a character in Cashmere Mafia, a small screen production, didn't produce positive results. Southland, the critically-acclaimed drama police show in which Liu appeared frequently and helped to reestablish she is an internationally acclaimed as an actress. Liu picks her roles with care in order to ensure she is not cast in an industry that is competitive. She has accepted her Chinese roots but hasn't let it hinder her creative abilities.
