Dolly-Parton
born on January. 19 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poor family that would eventually include 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to escape the hardships of life by using her vivid and expansive imagination. She was writing songs before she learned to write or read. Once she had her first instrument at age 8, she started performing on local radio stations from Knoxville, Tennessee. In the same year, she released her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. Even though she was still studying, she already made a name of herself within the local arena. However, her goal was to to play on a larger level. She relocated to Nashville shortly after her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host at the time, was in search for a singer for his program. Parton was a part of the Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing to RCA Records. But she resigned from the show in 1974 when her solo releases such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were out-charting their collaborations. The two split in 1974, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it reached No. The first time that a song hit the top spot.
